The author revisits pain and feelings of hopelessness to tell the tale of resilience and the truths found in love.
“My thoughts and worries in moments of despair were very repetitive. It mimicked poetry. I began organizing these messily written words and put them into one space. This process I realized…was mortifying. It felt very tiring and it was exhausting to go into an old space, an old mindset, an old pain. And I just remember writing down “Maybe if I unpack all of this here, It will get better, Maybe then life will move on” and instantly I thought “oh my gosh, 1. that’s a great poem and 2. that’s my book!” and it all came to fruition at that moment and I realized that I had a book on my hands.
